Chief Magistrate Lillian Buchana has adjourned to January 25th 2017, the case in which opposition leader Kizza Besigye is charged with treason.
Besigye vowed not to return to the court claiming prosecution has failed to establish a case against him.
Besigye arrived at court around 10am this morning but was asked to wait as the magistrate was busy dealing with another case.
An angry Besigye tweeted that he arrived to court on time and sat in Nakawa court as required but surprisingly, there was another trial going on as if his case had been forgotten.
"Am already seated in Nakawa court as required. Surprisingly, there's another trial going on! Case may be forgotten!!"
After the adjournment Besigye said he would not return to court, claiming that after more than six months since his arrest, the DPP has no case to commit to trial.
"More than 6 mths since I was arrested & charged with Treason, DPP has no case to commit for trial! I've told Nakawa court I won't go back!!" he said.
Besigye appeared before Buchana this morning at Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court and asked her to rule on the case which the iron man believes is intentionally being stalled by the prosecution.
He says prosecution has failed to avail court with enough evidence and should drop the ridiculous charges.
Besigye was arrested in May and charged with treason for swearing himself in as the president of Uganda after losing the February 18th presidential election.
