A section of legislators opposed to the proposed scrapping of the presidential age limit have vowed not to succumb to pressure from government.
The determined MPs say they have gone back to the drawing board to strategize on their next course of action when they return to the house on Thursday this week.
Erute North MP Charles Angiro Gutmoi, says they will start from where they stopped when their colleagues complete serving their suspension from the house.
At least 25 legislators, mainly opposition members, were suspended by the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga on Wednesday last week for stirring chaos in the house in an attempt to block the motion proposing the scrapping of article 102 (b) of the constitution.
Gutmoi says they have devised several strategies to stop the scrapping of the presidential age limit and will not relent on their cause.
Julius Ochen, the Kapelabyong MP notes that Government has demonstrated to Ugandans that it is cowardly and insecure. He says the way MPs were brutalized shows the whole world how far President Yoweri Museveni can go just to die in Power. Ochen says despite the harassment they will not back down.
Both Gutmoi and Ochen are not among the suspended legislators.
The suspended include Allan Sewanyana, Monica Amoding, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Betty Nambooze, Mohammad Nsereko, Mubarak Munyagwa, Dr Sam Lyomoki, Barnabas Tinkasimire, Francis Zaake, Gilbert Olanya, Ojur Jonathan, Moses Kasibante, Ibrahim Kasozi, Angelline Osegge and William Nzoghu.
Others are Roland Mugume, Muwanga Kivumbi, Wilfred Niwagaba, Joseph Sewungu, Mbwatekamwa Gaffa and John Baptist Nambetsye.
