The faded musician Martin Kaye aka Qute Kaye on Friday was spotted at Old Kampala Mosque during the Friday prayers. He expressed his desire to join the Islamic faith and so asked the Sheikh who was leading prayers and fellow Muslims to give him a chance and accept him as part of them; after all he has seen the light in this faith.
The“Ginkese”singer had for years disappeared from the music scene after failing miserably and has been rumored being sick from hospital to another until some tabloids started announcing him dead.
It’s no surprise that he has turned to Islamic faith since some musicians have used it to attract the public opinion and revive their music. One being Jose Chameleone who converted to Islam and later left.
However Qute Kaye was first told by the Sheikh to first clean himself up since he was so bushy everywhere, as to prepare himself for the circumcision. We have learnt this Wednesday, the ceremony to accept him in the Islamic faith will finally take place.
Well, we hope this will be a turning point in Quite Kaye’s life musically and spiritually.
