Yvonne Kushemererwa, the 2017/18 Miss Uganda North America Beauty Queen, arrived in Uganda on December 31st, 2017 at 11 PM aboard Brussels Airlines. She was received by 'Different, Better with Purpose' founder and Miss Uganda Rising Woman, Irene Nakitende alongside Miss Uganda North America President, Tibba Murungi Kabugu.
The 2018 Cares Tour of Uganda will kick off January 5th. This annual tour is a two-week tourism, culture and charity effort led by the reigning Miss Uganda North America beauty queen, accompanied by international visitors. It involves exploration of Uganda's nature, wildlife and oldest cultures, charity work, and women empowerment activities.
Yvonne will be visiting Tooro Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, and Jinja town. During her tour, she will make a stop at Kyaninga Child Development Center to deliver toys, wheel chairs and scholastic aid from the Ugandan community in North America. She will also be doing a book reading and delivering books to the Ella Foundation in Jinja town. Her last stop will be the Ladies First! Forum for Women in Leadership on January 19th, 2018.
