Former Miss Uganda 2012, Sylivia Namutebi,is now in charge of the beauty pageant alongside Brenda Nanyonjo.
She says, she wouldn't have been the person she is today if her friends hadn't encouraged her not to give up.
Sylivia says she did not want to contest for Miss Uganda in 2012 but she was pushed and eventually, she was crowned as the winner. She tried in 2011 only to be thrown out during auditions, something that discouraged her.
She confirms that taking the Miss Uganda crown opened new doors for her.
