In the mid-2000s, Red Banton was one of the biggest musicians in Uganda.
The singer released a number of hit songs like ‘Sivva Kampala’ that took Ugandans by storm but within a short time, he slowly faded away and eventually disappeared from the music scene.
He was recently interviewed about how he is living under the lockdown, and he said he is broke like a church mouse.
He can't afford a decent meal a day. He asked the government to consider him while giving out posho and beans.
He confirmed he no longer make money from music.
Red Banton emphasized that the only thing he has benefited from music is fame.
