In a harrowing tale of courage and survival, Ibrah K Mukasa has revealed the terrifying reason he was forced to flee his home country of Uganda.
After conducting an interview with former Youth Member of Parliament and former Uganda Netball Federation president, Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo, in which she exposed corruption and scandals within the National Council of Sports, Ibrah found himself in the crosshairs of powerful and ruthless individuals.
The threats began subtly, with anonymous phone calls warning him to back off. But as the pressure mounted, Ibrah realized that his life was in grave danger.
The specter of Jajja Ichuli, a prominent social media blogger who was assassinated this year after speaking out against corruption, loomed large in his mind.
Knowing that he could be next, Ibrah made the difficult decision to leave Uganda. With a heavy heart, he said goodbye to his loved ones and embarked on a perilous journey to seek refuge in Canada.
It is reported that he fled and departed via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, to avoid potential arrest at Entebbe Airport.
"On April 18, 2023, Ibra K Mukasa was summoned to the Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala, where he was detained for two days. His security friends informed him that he would be arrested again due to matters related to an interview on YouTube. Prior to this, he had been receiving anonymous phone calls, urging him to delete the video or follow Jajja Ichuli," a source informed this website.
