Zari Hassan confesses: as a child, her wildest dream was marrying a "filthy rich" man. Gold, luxury, and effortless comfort painted her vision of the perfect life. Sharing this in a BBC Swahili interview, Zari admitted she craved a life unburdened by hard work.
Reality, however, soon set in. Growing up, Zari realized her desired "good life" wouldn't arrive on a white stallion. "Getting married to a rich man" transformed into a burning ambition to build her own fortune.
In her own words, "I don't come from a rich family, but I should work hard to create a rich family for myself."
Zari's daydream morphed into her driving force. She shed the passive princess persona and embraced the role of an architect of her own happiness. "I said I wanted a good life, and that has been my motivation in life," she declared.
While having dated wealthy men like tycoon Ivan Ssemwanga and Diamond Platinumz, Zari discovered true value lay beyond financial riches. Today, she finds happiness in her marriage to Ugandan man Shakib Cham, proving that love and self-made success trumped her childhood fairy tale.
