Denis Onyango 8.5: The Mamelodi Sundowns goalie was massive for the team. Made three crucial saves in the first half to deny the Black Stars. His collection of crosses was fantastic. He was man of the match for Uganda.
Denis Iguma 7.0: Unlucky to concede a penalty at the start of the second period but defended well throughout. Kept the deadly Andre Ayew at bay for most parts of the game.
Godfrey Walusimbi 6.5: Started the game slowly and was troubled by the tricky Christian Atsu but later grew in confidence and did well.
Andrew Mwesigwa 7.5: He led by example at the back and didn’t put a foot wrong. He kept Asamoah Gyan silent.
Savio Kabugo 7.0: Surprisingly started ahead of Isinde and put up a gallant performance. Bar the intended handball which got him a booking, the SC Victoria University lad kept Majeed Waris in his pockets.
Geoffrey Kizito 7.0: He provided cover to the back four with his timely interceptions of opponents’ moves. Besides, his passing was fine.
Aucho Khalid 7.0: Like his partner Baba, Aucho did well against a star studded midfield of Kwadwo Asamoah and Rabiul Mohammed. He matched the duo pound for pound.
Tonny Mawejje 8.0: He dictated the tempo of the game for The Cranes. His short and long range passes were timely and scored a beauty of the goal that sent Cranes into the lead.
Luwagga Kizito 8.0: What a performance from the boy!!! He was Uganda’s most deadly player on the pitch going forward and created three opportunities one of which was converted. A good day at office for the Portugal based winger.
Moses Oloya 6.0: He struggled against Harrison Afful but was deadly when in possession. Later subbed for Hamis Kiiza.
Brian Umony 7.0: Led the line on his own and did well. Unlucky to miss on the score sheet thanks to the shot that hit the post after beating Daudah. He was replaced with Robert Ssentongo as he the game grew.
