Ahead of Saturday’s AFCON 2017 Group D qualifier against Uganda at Nelson Mandela National Stadium, the Botswana Zebras’ national team head coach, Peter Butler is worried of the Uganda Cranes physicality.

Butler and his players trained for the first time at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo since their arrival on Wednesday night. The former West Ham and West Brom player spoke to Kawowo Sports as the team trained at Lugogo on Thursday.

Uganda is a great team which plays a very physical game. We have new players on board and we are on a developmental trend.

Butler arrived later after the players and other officials’ contingent reached Entebbe International Airport.

On his team’s chances of progressing from Group D that has two other nations, Comoros and Burkina Faso, Butler says it is still early days.

You cannot qualify after just one match. It is not easy to gauge now but we shall assess after the opening game has been played

The Zebra’s contingent has 21 players and 8 officials. The team has several players who featured in the recently concluded COSAFA Cup in South Africa, with the main strength in attack where strikers Omaatla Kebatho  and Henrick Moyo are key pillars.

Kabelo Seakanyeng and the left footed dribbling ace, Mpho Kgaswane of local club, Gaborone United are two other important players for the team's creative role in a quest to break the  Ugandan backline.

Botswana Football Federation official, Onkagetse Pusoentsi is the head of delegation. The team is accommodated at Hotel Africana.
