Arsenal's hopes of signing Colombia international Jackson Martinez, 28, are over after the Porto forward agreed a four-year deal with Atletico Madrid. (AS) 

Manchester United want a swap deal with Real Madrid involving Spanish pair David De Gea and Sergio Ramos. Madrid want goalkeeper De Gea, 24, plus £20m for the 29-year-old defender. United will make De Gea see out the remaining 12 months of his contract if Real refuse to meet their demands. (Daily Star)

Stoke City are expecting a formal bid from Chelsea for £8m-rated goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, 28, and will ask the Premier League champions to include Nigeria forward Victor Moses, 24, in any deal. (Daily Telegraph) 

But Chelsea's hopes of signing Begovic, 28, have suffered a blow after Moses said he is unsure if he wants to return to Stoke City. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the Britannia Stadium from Chelsea. (Times - subscription required) 

West Bromwich Albion are prepared to make former Newcastle and Chelsea striker Demba Ba their highest-paid player, with the 30-year-old telling his current club Besiktas he wants to return to England rather than play in China for Shanghai Shenhua. (Birmingham Mail)
