The Uganda National netball team, the She Cranes registered their second successive victory at the 2015 World Cup with a 61-40 score line over Fiji in the opening game of Day 2 at the AllPhones Arena.
She Cranes' head coach, Rashid Mubiru maintained the same starters that won against Zambia but did not make a substitutions.
The She Cranes won all quarters after getting off a 15-12 start. By the half time break, Uganda had opened a 10 goals lead and at the end of the third, victory was in sight as the lead increased to 13 (45-32).
Despite not being as efficient as she was in the opener, Goal Shooter and captain Peace Proscovia once again paced the Uganda with 37 goals and Goal Attack, Racheal Nanyonga netted 24.
Ruth Meme was at the center of the She Cranes offense and defense assisting 14 goals, deflected 5 passes and intercepted 3.
Betty Namukasa stood out in Uganda's defense that forced 33 turnovers from their opponents. The Goal Defender deflected 9 passes and intercepted 3.
For Fiji, it was Goal Shooter, Taraima Mitchell who led the way with 27 goals and Unaisi Kubunameca Rauluni who came for her contributed 5 while GA Unouna Afa Rusivakula scored 8.
This is Uganda's second victory following the opening day 74-38 humiliation of Zambia.
Focus now turns to the remaining Pool D game against Wales.
