14 time CECAFA champions and national team, The Uganda Cranes have this morning met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in Soroti where he is campaigning for votes ahead of 2016 general elections.
Last evening, The Cranes were hosted to a dinner by the State Vice president Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, at State House, Entebbe who on behalf H.E Museveni congratulated the team for their 14th CECAFA title after defeating Rwanda 1-0 on Saturday;
“I thank you the Uganda Cranes for being good ambassadors of our country in different tournaments on the African continent and beyond.” Read the message
The V.P added; “The incredible performance you exhibited during the CECAFA tournament proved that you can make it even for bigger tournaments like the African Cup and the World Cup.”
Later, the Cranes left for Soroti where they would meet the president who is on presidential campaign tour in Teso Sub region.
