A patient who tested positive to COVID-19 weeks ago has Tuesday been discharged from Adjumani hospital.
The male patient was discharged by Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu the state minister in charge of Primary Health Care. The patient is said to have tested negative twice, after 14 days of treatment.
This brings the total number of discharged/recoveries to 8 after four were discharged on Saturday and 3 others on Monday.
According to the Ministry of health, Adjumani Hospital had only one COVID-19 patient who has now been discharged. The remaining 46 active COVID-19 cases are in Mulago, Entebbe Grade B and Hoima hospitals. The cumulative confirmed number of COVID-19 cases stands at 54.
Unlike the other cases, the gentleman in Adjumani consented to appearing before the public and media.
The recovered man was also handed a certificate to return home. The gentleman is a businessman dealing in salt and usually does his business at Elegu Border. He has never stepped out of the country unlike many other cases of people who were returnees from UAE, UK among other countries.
