Makindye Chief Magistrate Erias Kakooza has released socialite Brian White and Corporal Thomas Okot on a 10m cash bail.
The duo appeared before the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court on December 21st 2017 and was charged with attempted murder of Victor Bitwire, White’s neighbor in Buziga, Kampala.
Court heard that on December 13th, 32 year old Kirumira alongside Corporal Okot, 28 attempted to kill Bitwire by shooting.
The victim who has since been discharged from the hospital after spending at least a week in the ICU.
It is alleged, that on the fateful night, while at Kirumira’s gate in Munyonyo-Buziga, the gentlemen got into an argument after White accused Bitwire of following him around.
Bitwire attempted to explain that he was a neighbor, but his words fell on the socialite’s deaf ear. White allegedly picked a gun and shot his neighbor before rushing him to Nsambya hospital, where he was later referred to IHK.
The duo presented 4 Sureties who were also bonded at 20m non cash each.
Several people who had tasted White’s money, including comedian Mariachi and struggling singer Big Eye were at to show support to a man that has on several occasions been seen sharing money with them.
They return to court on 30th Jan for mention of case.
