Yesterday 29th August, Bebe Cool was set to perform at Makere University's most anticipated show at the that was held in Mitchel Hall.. but he did not show up until midnight when the bazzar is supposed to stop.
Bebe Cool was attacked by furious students who threatened to stone his car for coming late to a show they had paid 50,000 UGX per head for. A few hours ago, the Nkola Byafayo singer updated his facebook fan page with an apologetic post expressing how regretful he was to have missed the show and disappointed his MUK fans.
My apologies to all my fans at makerere university for not performing for u yesterday at the mitchellex bazaar.I was told by the promoter to come past midnyt n on my arrival,I was threatened by students saying they were going to fight, stone my car coz I had come at midnight and at this level I can not be part of hooliganism as u all know that university students should lead as an example behavior wise. There has always been a lot of complaints about artists fighting and we as artists r doing something about it,I therefore call on all fans in Uganda to also behave well towards artists coz it takes two to tangle.thanks I WILL LOVE U EVERY DAY -- Bebe Cool Posted
Bebe Cool took off as fast as he could claiming he was not going to tolerate violance and hooliganism, a common behaivour with Makerere University students... especially when they have been angered. His inscrutable countenance was not bought by the vexed students, he decided to keep his cool and begged for mercy until he had a bit of way and took off.
