Singer Evelyn Lagu, whose real name is Evelyn Nakabira, has been battling kidney failure for several years. She was advised by physicians in Turkey not to undergo a kidney transplant, as her health state could not handle it. As a result, she has been undergoing weekly dialysis treatments, which are costly and have left her unable to work.
Recently, Evelyn's condition has worsened, as one of her veins ruptured, and her eyes are no longer functioning well. She also developed a health complication that caused her lungs to be clogged with water, making it difficult for her to breathe.
During this time, she ruptured a blood vessel, leading to internal hemorrhage and an injured eye. Moreover, her dialysis passage, created on her upper arm, has been blocked, making it impossible to use for administering the treatment.
Evelyn now needs surgery to create another path for dialysis on her leg. However, she is financially unstable and cannot afford the treatment since she no longer has a stable revenue stream.
Her son, Freddie Kasavu, has revealed that his mother has gone almost three weeks without dialysis, putting her life at risk.
