The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has confirmed that Kawempe North Member of Parliament-elect, Elias Nalukoola, will be sworn in tomorrow after he was gazetted yesterday by the Electoral Commission.
The Speaker made the confirmation through her X account and also congratulated Nalukoola upon the win.
"I have received official communication from the @UgandaEC along with a copy of the gazetted results. I will proceed to swear in the Member of Parliament-elect for Kawempe North in my chambers tomorrow at 12:00 noon. I would like to congratulate Erias Nalukoola Luyimbazi on his victory," the statement read.
Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola emerged the winner in the Kawempe North by-elections which took place on the 13th of this month.
He got over 17,000 votes, beating his closest rival, Farida Nambi of the NRM, who managed to get over 8,000 votes.
The by-elections took place to replace Muhammad Segirinya, who passed away in January this year.
