I've also faced domestic violence in a relationship, with the person resorting to physical abuse for even minor annoyances. I won't mention names, but that was his behavior. We, as artists, are no different from anyone else; the only distinction is that our lives become public."
Leila Kayondo's most notable relationship was with businessman SK Mbuga. Their relationship came to an end in 2016 amid allegations of domestic violence, which escalated to a court case. At that time, she sought assistance from the then Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura, and the general public, sharing a detailed Facebook post that included images of her injured face.
In that same year, S.K. Mbuga, whose real name is Sulaiman Kabalangala, celebrated a grand wedding with Jalia Vivienne Chebet. The couple now has three children together.
