Renowned for his voluntary work and comedic approach to politics, Muhammad Segirinya finds himself confined to a sickbed, battling for his health.
The dedicated NUP supporter, however, now finds himself without the support of his political party and Bobi Wine, who serves as the leader of NUP.
Reports indicate that Bobi Wine has chosen to disassociate from Segirinya due to concerns about his own safety. There are suspicions that financial transactions and other incentives might have occurred to secure their release from prison.
Sources suggest that Bobi Wine received information from insiders within the government that Segirinya and Sewanyana had struck a deal with the head of state, President Museveni, promising not to publicly oppose him in the future. This alleged agreement was made in exchange for their release from prison.
It is worth noting that Segirinya has been in a critical condition and has spent over two months in intensive care. However, Bobi Wine has not visited him nor initiated a fundraising campaign to provide him with the necessary medical support.
