President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), Eddy Kenzo, has broken his silence on the ongoing feud between singers Azawi and Ray G.
The tension escalated recently when Ray G attempted to interrupt Azawi's performance in Mbarara, citing disrespect. Counter-accusations and alleged bottle-throwing incidents followed.
In a statement released Tuesday morning, Kenzo strongly condemned the acts of violence and tribal sentiments surfacing in the conflict.
He emphasized the importance of unity and celebrating the richness of Uganda's diverse culture, stating, "Let's be reminded that we don't choose who we are."
Kenzo acknowledged the Federation's delayed response due to holiday schedules but announced immediate action. He has directed the UNMF Secretariat to conduct a thorough investigation into the events and submit a report for the executive committee to review and determine a course of action.
Additionally, Kenzo urged leaders of the Greater Ankore region, to which Ray G belongs, to cooperate with the Secretariat in restoring peace and harmony within the music community.
