The country woke up to the sad news of the death of former presidential press secretary and political pundit Tamale Mirundi.

Mirundi, who had been serving as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Media, died on Tuesday night at Kisubi Hospital. His death was confirmed by family members.

Mirundi was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Kisubi Hospital about a month ago due to an undisclosed illness.

Tamale Mirundi had been released from the ICU two weeks ago as he showed signs of recovery, but he was pronounced dead in the late hours of Tuesday.

It is alleged that Mirundi had been battling lung-related complications. Part of his lungs had filled with fluids, and doctors had been draining them until yesterday when the lungs filled up with blood.

The country has joined Mirundi's family in mourning, with many people sending their condolences.

Mirundi died at the age of 60.
