Rapper Gravity Omutujju believes the Ugandan music industry is struggling and at its weakest point. Gravity, who experienced a disappointing turnout at Lugogo Cricket Oval this year, blames politics for dividing the industry and weakening its unity.

“The industry is at its weakest, largely due to politics. Politics has infiltrated the industry, causing division among musicians and preventing us from advocating for common goals,” he said in a television interview.

The rapper also noted that some musicians are now more focused on online trends than on creating quality music.

“Musicians no longer focus on creating good music; they’re more interested in going viral on TikTok than spending time in the studio,” he added.
