Authorities in Jinja district are hunting for unidentified thugs who stabbed to death a 30-year-old man, identified as Yusuf Bogeere.
The deceased was killed in Budhumbuli East village in Bugembe town council around 9pm on Thursday night when he had gone to withdraw about Shillings 50,000 from a mobile money agent. He was rounded up by four men demanding that he surrenders his phone, which he resisted.
The unidentified thugs then stabbed him twice before fleeing the scene living Bogeere in a pool of blood. Residents would later try to rush him to Jinja Regional Referral hospital emergency ward where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Resident of the area say they have abandoned the presidential directives on Covid19 prevention, which has escalated crime rates and that business in this area is back to normal as they freely operate their shops till midnight.
According to Abbey Ngako the Kiira Region Police spokesperson, a team of detectives has been dispatched to hunt down the suspects
