A ruthless man in Kagadi is on the run after hitting his wife to death during a heated fight.
The deceased has been identified as Rose Natulinda, 24, a resident of Kamoroza village in Kyanaisoke sub-county.
It is alleged that the suspect, Jackson Happy, 30, used a blunt object to hit his wife on the head before fleeing into hiding. The incident happened on Sunday night at about 11 pm while the pair engaged in a loud fight under unclear circumstances.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says the deceased was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood by neighbors who heard her screaming for help. She died upon arrival at Kagadi general hospital where she was rushed for treatment.
He says police is now hunting for Jackson for the murder of his wife. He adds that police officers have visited the crime scene and collected all the necessary evidence.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was handed over to her relatives for burial.
