Uganda Entertainment Awards (UEA) owned by urban television's red carpet host, Kabs Haloha might be a missed call for this year due to financial constraints.
It is rumoured that Kabs fell out with tycoon Jack Pemba due to conflict of interest. He realized that Kabs was not bringing much on the table yet Pemba was the chief financier of the project.
The disastrous event that was held at Serena Hotel last year, Pemba was fully responsible for everything from venue booking, paying off the foreign acts like red carpet host Bonag Matheba,singer Yemi Alade to purchasing the accolades, hiring , production among others.
Now by look of things Kabs is financially incapable of hosting the awards this year and they might suffer a natural death for good if Kabs fails to get sponsors. It’s believed that it Pemba injected in around Shs 400M last year.
The awards had their inaugural event at Sudhir's Speke resort hotel in Munyonyo in 2015 and it was characterized with glamour which MTV base Mcee VJ Ehizojia Okoeguale commonly known as Ehiz as the host.
