A group of musicians led by Kenzo established the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) with the aim of advocating for musicians' rights, particularly regarding copyright issues.

Since its inception, the federation has faced allegations of financial mismanagement, with critics claiming that it was formed to secure government funds for personal use.

Amidst the controversies surrounding the UNMF, several musicians decided to leave the association due to concerns about transparency. Notable departures included Spice Diana, Afrigo Band members, Big Eye, Cindy, and others.

The latest musician to quit was Daddy Andre, who revealed his reasons for leaving in a recent interview.

"There was disorganization, and the federation failed to distinguish between its own objectives and those of individual artists," he explained. "They lacked clear goals," he added.
