Retired senior police officer Asan Kasigye has expressed support for Ugandan music and revealed his top five musicians.

Kasigye, who once worked as the police spokesperson, put Jose Chameleon in the number one spot because of his longevity and versatile character.

He says Chameleon can create music out of nothing.

"He is someone who can do anything: Kiswahili, Afro, Lingala, and his songs are educative. He has been on top for over twenty years," he said.

Kasigye placed Azawi in the second position, explaining that she brought a new sound to the industry and has a very promising future ahead of her musically.

Bebe Cool ranked third, and Kasigye explained that he is someone who has lived a celebrity lifestyle for a long time but has managed to run his private family affairs smoothly.

He also praised him for always bringing fresh talent to the industry and giving a helping hand to other musicians.

"Bebe Cool helped Chameleon and Bobi Wine when they were starting music. He later brought Rema, and I am sure he continues to do so. He is up there for me because he has strong roots in the industry," Kasigye said.

Ray G appeared in the fourth position and was thanked for breaking the deadlock by bringing Runyakole music to Kampala despite the challenges.

"Ray G should be in the fourth position for me. He persisted even when many people thought it was not possible. He just organized a mega concert in Kampala despite being based in Mbarara. He deserves recognition," he said.

Juliana ranked fifth for her inspiration to young girls and consistency over the years.
