Brian Avie expressed his disappointment with Ugandan musicians, urging them to have bigger dreams than just catering to the local market.
He explained that many artists are too comfortable with their local audience, producing music that targets only residents of places like Kalerwe market and its surrounding areas.
He encouraged them to emulate Joshua Baraka, saying he is proud of the strides Baraka is making for the Ugandan music industry.
"Musicians in Uganda face one major challenge: they primarily produce music for local consumption, yet the dream should be bigger than the local market. I am so proud of Joshua Baraka; he's doing his best to ensure his music crosses borders," he said in an interview with a local television station.
Brian Avie believes artists should focus on creating music that reaches far beyond Uganda.
