The year has not started well for media personality Dalton Kaweesa, as reports have emerged indicating he has been fired from Next Media Services, the company that manages NBS Television.
According to veteran journalist Edris Kiggundu, Kaweesa has been dismissed from the Naguru-based television station and replaced by digital editor Dorah Atwongyeire.
Dalton Kaweesa had been at Next Media for over ten years, rising through the ranks to serve as the head of news at the company.
"Dalton Kaweesa, the head of news at Next Media, has been shown the exit, according to impeccable sources at Naguru. Dorah Atwongeyeire, the online editor, is likely to replace him," a post by Edris Kiggundu read on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Dalton Kaweesa's dismissal comes almost two weeks after the company announced its restructuring and its embarkation on a Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) initiative, focusing on merging certain roles, expanding the scope of others, and filling key leadership positions.
