Breaking divorce news! Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are divorcing, one day after their 10th wedding anniversary.
After a season of tabloid speculation, countless “They’re Splitting” covers and paparazzi interrogations, the couple announced the breakup.
Ben and Jen told “Extra,” “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.”
The statement continued, “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”
The two stars wed in 2005 and have three children; Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
When “Extra” caught up with Jennifer a few weeks ago, she told us the family was looking forward to Father’s Day.
That was just before the breakup gossip reached a fever pitch, and moving trucks were spied outside their home.
In the past, while rumors of late-night gambling trips and living apart swirled around them, they presented a united front.
Last November, we caught up with them at the Save the Children gala. Ben told us, “It’s always nice to be with my lovely wife,” adding, “Jennifer is the real thing.”
