Singer Sheebah Karungi and other big artistes like Bebe Cool, Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, Cindy, Rema Namakula and Eddy Kenzo among other big names in the industry didn't attend the annual HiPipo Music Awards that were held at Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday 17 March.
Sheebah was the biggest winner of the night despite not appearing at the ceremony.
Her "Karma Album" scooped the Album Of The Year, "Binkolera", a collabo with The Ben from Rwanda took best the International collabo, Female artiste of the year and she was also the overall winner, Artiste of the year.
Fik Fameica, Nessim, Navio, Late Mowzey Radio, Selector Jay were among the other winners.
The highlight of the night was when singer Mary Bata was announced as the winner of the Best Band song beating Carol Nantongo and Eddy Yawe whose "Tukigaale" hit rocked airwaves after becoming a household anthem. This attracted criticism from both media and the fans.
They were overheard complaining that she didn't deserve the award.
