When musicians were invited to contest for the various positions at Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), Bebe Cool’s son, Allan Hendrick expressed interest in the position of Vice President.

Hendrik, however, pulled out days after his nomination saying that he had made a mistake to stand.

Fast forward, his father has said he influenced him to withdraw from the race.

“He didn’t tell me before he went for nomination. He only came to tell me after and I advised him to withdraw on grounds of his little experience. How could he lead people like me who have been in the industry for 20 years? I  told him to first gain more knowledge and I am glad he listened to me,” Bebe Cool said in an interview.

Hendrick Allan had plans to digitize the music industry, promote the engagement of all musicians across the country, and eliminate politics in the music business.
