Musician Bruno K is still celebrating after a court awarded him over 130 million (presumably Ugandan shillings, though the currency is not specified) in a copyright infringement case against Black Market Records.

The singer claims music streaming brings money to artists and says his song "Omuwala" made over $20,000.

Bruno K explained that to earn money from streams, artists have to promote their songs to a broad community beyond Uganda.

He called upon artists to embrace TikTok because it can take their songs to different countries and areas, which in the long run brings money to the artist.

"People are speaking out of ignorance because you can actually make money from streaming. My song Omuwala wasn’t only streamed in Uganda. TikTok helped pave the way, and people from Sierra Leone, South Africa, and other countries started streaming it too," he explained.

Bruno K joins a list of other artists, including Joshua Baraka, Azawi, and a few others, who are making a living from streams.
