Eddy Kenzo has won the most prestigious awards in Uganda.
He was recently nominated in the Grammy Awards 2023, and to some, that should cement his place as the number one musician ahead of Chameleone, Bebe Cool, and Bobi Wine.

Dancehall singer, King Micheal finds such suggestions insulting to Chameleone.
“Kenzo himself knows Chameleone is better than him. It is Chameleone who should be getting these big awards, which tells you that accolades don’t tell the whole story. I’m not saying Kenzo isn’t a great musician, but he can not be compared with Chameleone,” said Michael.

“These are things I’m not shy to say because it’s a fact,” he concluded.
Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, and Chameleone are credited for promoting pop music in Uganda and chasing away Congolese music.
