Producer Artin, who has produced most of the songs for Fik Fameika, has responded to allegations of plagiarizing songs, especially those from outside Uganda.
Artin explained that he has never plagiarized songs for Fameika. They only take inspiration from a few things to enhance their creativity, which he believes is not a problem.
"I have never plagiarized songs for Fameika. Most of the time, he comes with his own work, and as a producer, I direct him on what to do. You know, Fameika writes most of his songs, and those people who claim we plagiarize are just laid back. They need to move on from that thinking. We don't plagiarize but take inspiration and create something better. We are creative," he said in an interview with a local television station.
Fameika has previously been criticized for allegedly plagiarizing the "Property" song from Tanzanian beats.
