Musician Cinderella Sanyu, also known as Cindy, has revealed why she no longer seeks collaborations with international artists.
The singer explained that she stopped pursuing such collaborations because the international artists often fail to promote the songs to their audiences, leaving the burden entirely on the local artist.
"I stopped trying to get collaborations with Western artists because we are the only ones who push for the collaborations—they do not. It is one-sided,” she explained in an interview with local media.
Cindy believes collaborations should be a means of breaking into another market, but if the international artist does not promote the song in their region, then the collaboration serves no purpose.
"The only reason I would want to work with them is to push my music into their market, not my own. I am already established here. If you are not going to help on that side, we might as well leave the collaborations,” she added.
