The ministry of health has released a program for the fallen Dr. Margaret Mungherera’s send off.
Dr. Mungherera, a long-serving medical practitioner in the field of Psychiatry died in India on Saturday after succumbing to colon cancer.
A statement released by the ministry indicates that working closely with the deceased’s family, government has arranged to have Dr. Mungherera’s remains flown back home today Tuesday 7th February at 2:00pm aboard Emirates Airline.
“There will be a requiem Mass on Thursday 9th February at All Saints Cathedral, starting at 10:00am, and vigil at the deceased’s parents’ home in Mpererwe, Kampala. Dr. Mungherera shall be laid to rest at her ancestral home in Butalejja on Saturday 11th February, at 12:00 noon” the statement said.
She will be remembered for the selfless service in the health sector where she served for over three decades. Her contribution and passionate advocacy towards the welfare of both medical workers and patients is well recognized by the whole country and the world at large.
