Rt.Hon.Rebecca Kadaga, the Speaker of Parliament, has stopped debate on the operations of Boda boda 2010, citing new developments in the matter.
The speakers during plenary on Tuesday informed the house that although the conduct and lawlessness of Boda boda 2010 came up in parliament last year, the house can't debate the matter given the ongoing investigations by security agencies.
Kadaga then proposed that parliament halts debate on Boda boda operations and follow the ongoing proceedings about the top leadership of Boda boda 2010 and its members.
Last year, the heated debate on the operations of Boda boda 2010 came up in parliament after some of the group members were implicated for attacking pupils of Winter land Primary School for allegedly wearing the red ribbon, a symbol of those opposed to the lifting of the presidential age limit.
The pupils were heading to Entebbe to perform at one of the events commemorating the police week. The attack on the pupils and their teachers drew angry condemnation from the public who called for the arrest and prosecution of those behind the attack.
