Police has confirmed that 19 people have died this evening when a motor vehicle Reg UG 2833E belonging to Kiryando Vocational Technical institute that they were traveling in was involved in accident.
6 other travelers survived the accident and have been rushed to Mbale and Kapchorwa hospitals for treatment.
The accident occurred at Tewei Hill in Sippi Town council in Kapchorwa district at 4:30 pm along Kapchorwa-Sironko road.
According to eye witnesses, the bus allegedly lost control and veered off the road, overturning several times and killed several students on board.
The Sebei Region Police Public Relations Officer Rogers Taitike, says they have so far recovered 19 bodies which are suspected to be long to students or lecturers of the same vocational institution.
