Hon. John Nizeyimana Kamara, the Bufumbira North County Member of Parliament, is in trouble for allegedly breaking a murder suspect out of police cells.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson says the hut for Kamara and a one John Sebagyenzi is on. Trouble for the MP started when he showed up at Nyabwishenya police station with his escorts and directed officers on duty to let the suspect go. They drove off to an unknown place.

Sebagyenzi had been arrested by police and detained in connection to the death of a 59-year-old man whose head was cut off.

According to Merida Manihiro an area resident, Nizeyimana was last been seen on Tuesday evening while together with Sebagyenzi in Cyril Maniriho’s bar in Suma trading centre. The suspect would later be arrested.

Residents were shocked when Kamara put the suspect in his vehicle and drove off last evening as police officers looked on

Maate says the MP should have spoken to the necessary authorities about the case instead of breaking the suspect out of the cells. The case against the MP is registered at Kisoro Police Station under file number CRB 288/2019.
