Officers from the Criminal Investigations Directorate - CID have nabbed ten people suspected to have taken part in the double murder of NGO employee Maria Nagirinya and Boda-boda rider, Ronald Kitayimbwa.
A project coordinator for Community Integrated Development Initiative – CIDI, Maria attended a workshop in Muyenga along Tank Hill road before calling Kitayimbwa for a chauffeur gig late last week. Kitayimbwa, besides being a Boda-boda rider, was usually hired on a part-time basis to drive vehicles especially in the areas of Nalumunye.
last week the duo was kidnapped from Lungujja, in the outskirts of Kampala by unknown assailants. Closed Circuit Television - CCTV security cameras captured Nagirinya's vehicle being driven by their kidnappers until it was dumped. According to police, their bodies were found on Thursday dumped 10 meters apart from each other in Nama Sub-county, Mukono District.
According to Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson, ten suspects have so far been arrested in relation to the murder. The suspects who are concealed are under interrogation have given clues to police, linking some of them to the crime.
CID director Assistant Inspector General of Police - AIGP Grace Akullo and her team have reconstructed the scene of crimes from Lungujja where they were kidnapped from to Nama Sub County, a distance of about 40 kilometres.
