45 Superintendents of Police have graduated after completing a refresher course in command and leadership at Bwebajja Police College.

The officers were on September 21, 2021 summoned by the Inspector-General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola for a refresher course.

Majority of these were serving as District/Division police Commanders. Only one of the trainees dropped out for reasons which Dr John Kamya the College head did not reveal.

The graduates include 30 male and 14 females including; Rosemary Angucia, Samson Lubega, Rose Asiimwe, Tobias Ahumuza, Henry Aruanga, Agnes Apolot, Medard Asiimwe, Carolyn Birungi,  Pius Changom, Appollo Ivan, Rashid Doka, Fredrick Higirwa and Bobiface Kinyera among others.

According to Rashid Doka who spoke on behalf of the colleagues, the course came at the right time as policing dynamics keep changing, and as such, requires regular training.
He further noted that the trainees have been empowered with new skills in investigations to enable them match with the fast-changing crime trends.

Graduates are expected to take over from their colleagues who will start the same training in the next two months.

According to Dr. Kamya, the training focused on leadership and command because any successful operation needs a person who is well knowledgeable in leading others. He cautioned graduates against deviating from the principles of the police institution.
