Police in Rukiga district are investigating circumstances under which a 30-year-old man was assaulted by his in-laws before succumbing to the injuries.
Elly Maate the police spokesperson Kigezi region identifies the deceased as Nuwamanya Hillary, a resident of Mukajanja cell, Bucundura parish, Kashambya s/cty, Rukiga District.
Nuwamanya had gone to his father in-law's home to pick his wife only identified as Joan with whom they had separated over domestic issues.
However, he was instead pounced on and assaulted by Joan’s relatives. At about 1400 hours on Thursday, Nuwamanya was found dead in his house.
Police Homicide detectives visited the scene of crime and processed it. The deceased’s body was also picked and conveyed to Kabale RRH for Post mortem.
Maate says enquiries are at hand to ascertain the real cause of death and no arrests have been made yet.
