The headteacher of Yole primary school in Katrini Sub County in Terego district Tom Amayo, is in trouble for allegedly defiling and battering his own daughter.
Police arrested Amayo on Tuesday and detained him at Katrini police post following a tip-off by the victim’s uncles where she had sought refuge.
According to Agnes Anyu, the Terego District Police Commander, preliminary police findings indicate that the suspect had reportedly committed the offence several times at his residence in the staff quarters where was living with the victim.
Anyu says that they have charged the suspect rape, defilement and torture.
A member of Yole Primary School Management committee identified as Geoffrey Aziz, says they are in the process of holding an emergency meeting following the arrest of the headteacher to forge away forward to allow the school run normally.
Staff and pupils of Yole primary school were bewildered by the incident.
Moses Maku, a resident and elder in Katrini Sub County, noted that such acts are not only degrading morality in society but are an indication of a doomed society.
