At least 132 Members of the 11th Parliament have on Monday taken oath to serve in the next house. These were sworn in on day one of the activities that will last four days.
The 11th Parliament will have 529 MPs, the biggest Uganda has ever had. 

Some of those sworn in today include National Unity Platform card members, NRM, Jeema, FDC among other Parties.

Jessica Ababiku, the Adjumani District Woman MP was the first member to be sworn in. Each member took oath before appending signature to what they have subscribed to, before Jane Kibirige the clerk to Parliament.

Some of the NUP MPs who were sworn in today include; Party Spokesperson, also Nakawa Division West MP Joel Ssentonyi. Ssenyonyi is also formerly a presenter and News Anchor at NTV, Betty Bakileke Nambooze of Mukono and former presidential candidate, Abed Bwanika, who is now representing Kimaanya-Kabonera Division in Masaka City.

Other NUP MPs sworn in today were former NBS and Radio One News manager Joyce Bagala who trounced ICT Minister Nabakooba, representing Mityana District as Woman MP and former Mayor of Nakawa Ronald Balimwezo representing Nakawa Division East in Parliament among others.

Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister, Gen. Moses Ali also took oath to represent his people of Adjumani West. State Minister for Finance, also Member of Parliament representing Ndorwa West has been sworn in. Speaking to the media after swearing in, Bahati said he will focus on programs that will support 3.3 million households who live in subsistence economy, to the money economy.

Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng has also be sworn in as new Woman MP for Lira City. She applauded the people of Lira City for the Support they have shown her and promised to serve them well.

Koboko MP Dr. Ayume Charles who trounced Minister Evelyn Anite has also taken oath. 

Dokolo District Woman MP, Hon Cecilia Ogwal one of the longest serving legislators in the Parliament also took oath of allegiance and that of MP this afternoon. 

Former leader of Opposition Betty Aol Achan, Acom Alobo the Woman MP Soroti City and Anne Adeke, the Soroti District MP among many others also took oaths.
