The territorial police at Katwe 58 suspected thugs in Kisangani area located in Masajja A Zone Masajja Parish, Masajja Division.
The thugs were arrested in an operation that followed the public outcry of residents about thugs that have been terrorizing them.
The suspects have been allegedly participating in aggravated robberies targeting residential houses and persons in areas of Salaama, Masajja, Mutundwe and Bunamwaya.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire the PRO KMP, during the operation, the police also recovered narcotics substances, pangas, house breaking implements and gloves that are used to cover fingerprints during the robberies.
The suspects are currently detained at Katwe Police Division and will be processed and arraigned in courts of law.
Owoyesigyire applauded members of the public for providing reliable information to the police that made the operation a success.
