Police in Rubanda are investigating the circumstances under which a 40-year-old man died suddenly.
The deceased is Gideon Mucunguzi a resident of Kabiindi cell Kashenyi parish Bubaare sub-county in Rubanda district.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson, it is alleged that on 29/03/2022 at around 1700hrs, at Hamabale trading centre Hamabale cell, the deceased was drinking at the bar of Musegura Gadafi when he requested the owner of the bar for a mat that he wanted to have a rest.
Musegura gave him a mat, but a few minutes later, the bar owner’s wife attempted to wake him up in vain.
She immediately informed other people around the bar and they also tried to wake him but that's when they discovered him dead.
Maate says the residents immediately alerted the LCI chairperson Ponsiano Karakwenda who called Bubaare police for further management.
The scene was visited, and statements are being recorded pending postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
