Joint security forces in Morukwangat village, Nyakwae Subcounty in Abim District have shot and killed one Karamojong warrior.
The incident happened on Monday night at around midnight when the joint security forces ambushed the cattle rustlers at the crossing point to Teso.
One armed warrior was put out of action and his smg rifle number ue 4664 with one round was recovered.
According to AIP Longole Mike the Ag PRO Mt. Moroto, this brings to a total 193 guns and 2,364 ammunition recovered since the start of USALAMA KWA WOTE DISARMAMENT OPERATION in Karamoja on 17/7/2022.

Joint security forces have arrested eight-armed Turkana herdsmen from Kenya in Naput village Rupa sub-county in Moroto district. The suspects were found in possession of six guns.
They are suspected to be part of the rustlers terrorizing Karamojong pastoral communities, which prompted security to round them up from the grazing area.
According to Maj Isaac Oware the UPDF 3rd division spokesperson, they picked up the suspects on March 30, 2022, during their operation around the border areas.
He adds that the suspects are in custody at the UPDF 3rd division headquarters in Moroto pending further investigations.
The Turkana herdsmen were allowed to cross to Uganda to graze their cattle but unfortunately, they were conniving with the Matheniko of Moroto to raid other communities.
