Five people are dead and seven others are fighting for their lives following an accident that happened on Thursday morning involving one motor vehicle and five motorcycles, at about 0830/c at Kabuusu round about in Rubaga Division.
The accident happened when motor vehicle Reg no UBH 321T Isuzu Elf that was being driven by a one Ssembatya Gerald lost control and rammed into five motorcycles all bajaj boxers, UFN 226F, UET 422T, UEZ 579U, UFH 520P, UEX 504C and a bicycle (sport bike).
The deceased have been identified as Nansubuga Florence, a passenger on bike, Ssemfuma, Ssemata Gerald, Semei Ndondo all riders and one person that is yet to be identified.
The five people who died included four males and one female while seven of the injured are five are males and two females.
The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to KCCA mortuary for postmortem examination, while the injured victims were rushed to Mulago Referral Hospital, for treatment.
ASP Faridah Nampiima the PRO traffic and road safety says the cause of the accident has been attributed to the Isuzu ELF truck which lost control coming from Rubaga road and rammed into the five motorcycles and bicycle that were entering Kabusu roundabout.
